At Araxos Car Rental, we believe that customers deserve complete transparency before making a reservation. For this reason, all insurance coverages, exclusions, protection packages and rental conditions are clearly presented in writing.
✅ INCLUDED INSURANCE COVERAGES
Civil Liability Insurance
Coverage for bodily injury and property damage caused to third parties.
Uninsured Vehicle Coverage
Compensation for damage caused to the rental vehicle by an uninsured third party.
Own Vehicle Repair
Coverage for repairs to the insured vehicle when the accident is caused solely by a known and insured third party.
Liability Extension Between Vehicles
Protection when multiple vehicles owned by the same owner are involved in an incident.
Driver Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Compensation up to €15,000 in the event of:
• Death resulting from a road traffic accident
• Permanent Total Disability resulting from a road traffic accident
This coverage applies to the insured driver while operating or travelling in the rental vehicle and is subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the insurance policy.
Natural Disaster Coverage
Protection for damage caused by forest fire or flood.
Legal Protection
Legal expenses coverage related to traffic accidents and insured incidents.
Roadside Assistance
24/7 roadside assistance in the event of mechanical breakdown, accident or other covered emergency.
Accident Care
On-site assistance following a traffic accident.
⛴️ Free Ferry Travel
Unlike many rental companies, Araxos Car Rental does not charge any Ferry Travel Fee.
Travel by ferry is permitted free of charge, subject to the rental agreement and insurance conditions.
🛡️ OPTIONAL FULL INSURANCE UPGRADE (€350 EXCESS)
Reduce your liability for covered vehicle damage to a maximum excess of €350 per incident.

Important Condition
Parking damage is covered only when an official Police Report is obtained immediately after the incident and submitted to Araxos Car Rental.
Unreported parking damage or damage of unknown cause remains excluded from coverage.

⚠️ INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS
The following are excluded from all insurance coverages and protection packages:
• Driving off paved/asphalt roads
• Damage caused by negligence, misuse or reckless driving
• Damage of unknown cause
• Underbody damage
• Roof damage
• Interior damage
• Water, beach, sand or salt damage
• Smoking damage
• Any accident not reported and verified by official police documentation
• Damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Damage caused by speeding or violation of traffic laws
• Unauthorized drivers
• Loss or theft of personal belongings
• Lost, stolen or damaged keys
• Incorrect fuel
• Racing, competitions, demonstrations or driver training
Insurance coverage becomes void in the event of fraud, false statements, illegal use of the vehicle or violation of the rental agreement.
📋 RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
Driver Requirements
• Driver age: 24–75 years old
• Driver must hold a valid driving licence for at least 2 years
• Valid passport or national ID required
Payment & Deposits
• Credit card is not required
• Accepted cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club
• Standard refundable deposit:
€350, €500, €750 or €1250 depending on vehicle category
• Reduced deposit options may be available with selected protection packages
Cancellation Policy
• Cancellations made at least 7 days before the rental start date are eligible for a refund
• Later cancellations are non-refundable unless otherwise approved by Araxos Car Rental
Fuel Policy
• Like-for-like fuel policy
• Refuelling fee: €20 plus fuel cost
Mileage Policy
• Unlimited kilometres for rentals of 3 days or more
• Rentals of 1–2 days include 150 km per day
• Excess mileage charges may apply
Additional Driver
• €10 per day
• Maximum charge €70 per rental
Out-of-Hours Service
• Pickup or return outside operating hours: €20
Cross-Border Travel
• Strictly prohibited
Ferry Transportation
• Allowed free of charge
• No Ferry Travel Fee
Vehicle Usage
Vehicles may only be driven on legally accessible paved/asphalt roads suitable for passenger vehicles.
Driving on beaches, dirt roads, gravel roads, forest tracks, agricultural roads, construction roads or any unpaved surface is strictly prohibited.
Only authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.
Vehicle Return
• Vehicle must be returned in the same condition as delivered
• Additional cleaning charges may apply
• Late return includes a 59-minute grace period
• After the grace period, an additional rental day may be charged
• Early returns and unused rental days are non-refundable
Damage Assessment
• Damage assessments are based on DAT Hellas pricing standards
• Repairs are carried out exclusively by authorised repair facilities
Rental Extensions
Rental extensions require written notice at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time.
Administrative Charges
• Administrative fee for fines, damages or vehicle immobilisation: €50+
• Parking violations and incorrect return locations may incur additional charges
Vehicle Categories
Vehicles are rented by category and not by specific model.
Specific vehicle models cannot be guaranteed.
Complaints
Complaints must be submitted in writing within 30 days of rental completion.
🚨 TRAFFIC FINES & VIOLATIONS
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, toll violations, traffic camera penalties, municipal fines and any related administrative charges incurred during the rental period.
🔒 SECURITY DEPOSIT AUTHORIZATION
Araxos Car Rental reserves the right to retain part or all of the security deposit in the event of:
• Vehicle damage
• Unpaid rental charges
• Traffic fines
• Administrative fees
• Missing equipment
• Excessive cleaning requirements
• Fuel discrepancies
• Violation of these Terms & Conditions
📸 VEHICLE CONDITION DOCUMENTATION
The condition of every vehicle is documented before and after each rental through photographs, videos and inspection reports.
These records may be used in the event of any dispute, insurance claim, chargeback request or legal proceeding.
💳 PAYMENT DISPUTES & CHARGEBACKS
In the event of a payment dispute or chargeback request, Araxos Car Rental reserves the right to provide reservation records, signed agreements, photographs, videos, inspection reports, communications and payment documentation to the relevant financial institution, payment processor or legal authority.
⛽ INCORRECT FUEL
The renter is fully responsible for all costs resulting from refuelling the vehicle with the incorrect fuel type, including towing, repairs, cleaning and vehicle downtime.
🚭 SMOKING POLICY
Smoking, vaping and the use of electronic cigarettes inside the vehicle are strictly prohibited.
Additional cleaning and deodorization charges may apply.
🐾 PETS
Pets are permitted provided the vehicle is returned clean and free from damage, excessive hair, stains or odors.
Additional cleaning charges may apply when necessary.
🔑 LOST KEYS
Lost, stolen or damaged keys, key cards, remotes, immobilizer devices and related equipment are not covered by any insurance or protection package.
Replacement and recovery costs are the responsibility of the renter.
📱 ACCESSORIES & ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Any supplied equipment, including child seats, booster seats, charging cables and accessories, must be returned in the same condition as delivered.
Missing or damaged equipment will be charged to the renter.
🌊 WATER, BEACH, SAND & SALT DAMAGE
Damage caused directly or indirectly by seawater, saltwater, driving through water, beach driving, sand ingress or salt corrosion is not covered by any insurance or protection package.
🚢 FERRY TRANSPORTATION LIABILITY
Any damage occurring during loading, unloading, parking or transportation aboard a ferry remains the responsibility of the renter unless caused by an identifiable third party and properly documented.
🔋 BATTERY DISCHARGE
Costs arising from battery discharge due to customer negligence, including leaving lights or electrical equipment operating while the engine is off, may be charged to the renter.
🚗 UNAUTHORIZED DRIVERS
Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.
Any damage occurring while the vehicle is operated by an unauthorized driver is excluded from all insurance and protection coverages.
🚫 PROHIBITED USES
The vehicle must not be used:
• For racing, competitions or driver training
• For towing or pushing other vehicles
• For carrying hazardous materials
• For illegal activities
• Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Beyond the manufacturer's intended use
Any such use immediately voids all insurance and protection coverages.
⚖️ GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
All reservations, rental agreements, insurance coverages, protection packages and related transactions are governed by the laws of Greece.
Any dispute arising from the rental agreement or vehicle rental shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Courts of Patras, Greece.
📄 RESERVATION & ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By submitting a reservation request through our website, by telephone, email, WhatsApp, social media, booking platform, travel agency or any other communication channel, and upon receiving a booking confirmation from Araxos Car Rental, the customer acknowledges, accepts and agrees to be bound by all Terms & Conditions, Insurance Conditions, Protection Packages, Rental Policies and Vehicle Usage Rules published on this website.
These Terms & Conditions form an integral part of every rental agreement and apply regardless of the reservation method used or whether a physical rental agreement is signed.
By proceeding with a reservation and accepting the booking confirmation, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted all applicable rental terms before the commencement of the rental period.
In the event of any dispute, claim, chargeback request or legal proceeding, these Terms & Conditions, together with reservation records, booking confirmations, rental agreements, payment records, inspection reports, photographs, videos and communications between the parties, may be relied upon as evidence of the contractual relationship between the customer and Araxos Car Rental.
